The black walnut rightly gets all the attention when it comes to woodworking with its wood, but, look, the english walnut is still pretty neat if you ask me. Some great color in here, lots of fun stuff going on around the knot. Plus this one had been in the outside wood pile all winter and thus hadn’t really dried all that much so you’re bound to get some interesting additional cracks forming in here which, imho, is NEAT.

Also it’s just so so heavy, which is fun.
