White poplar. What is there to say? It’s a tree I find to be undeniably beautiful and also super nostalgic, as it lines the banks of the stream that cuts through the old Davies family farm (which is where this piece of wood came from). But it can also be invasive and the wood was honestly a PAIN to work with (tearout, just, everywhere). But it’s also pretty wood! Some fun grain as well as some nice natural cracking and a good ol’ “wood” color, lol.
