Does it get much better than a good doug-fir? I mean, they have little mouse butts on their cones! Pruned a limb off of a big dead log up on the mountainside near my home and brought it home and had to hack the bark off with an axe before turning this on the lathe because I’ve learned the hard way just how much sticky, sticky resin gets EVERYWHERE if you don’t do that first. No sticky resin for you on this piece, though. Just really cool grain.
